CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

Message from Our Chairperson

Dr Peter Makhambeni

Chairperson Dr Peter Makhambeni

The Super Shongwe Memorial and Charity Trust  much anticipated 10th Anniversary was on the 25th of May 2018.  There was excitement about the historic milestone which was celebrated with a Golf Day followed by a Gala Dinner at the ACPP hall in Pretoria West.

I am extremely grateful to the past Chairperson for nine successive years, George Mahlaela and the Board of Trustees for their dedication and hard work of the last ten years. These are the unsung heroes and heroines who went about their tasks conscientiously and with devotion largely behind the scenes.

The Trust is currently supporting eight community projects in Atteridgeville and Saulsville with two of them being our major projects.

The first major one is the Atteridgeville Association for People with Disabilities at Lebuwe who are being assisted with skills development and a workshop which will create sustainable jobs.

The second is Phuthabana Drop-in Centre at Phuthaditshaba High School, Phomolong which is being assisted with the establishment of food gardens to grow food for themselves instead of relying on donations. They are being encouraged to catch fish themselves.
